Last Sunday Selfies In May

Today is the last Sunday in May, we had five of them!! Five Selfie Sundays to hop the blog, MOL!
Tomorrow it will be June first, wow, the time does fly!

Minko seems a bit livelier, less vomiting, and the loose poops are firmer too. He is eating Nature's Variety Rabbit...which of course he doesn't care for, so you guessed it, meowmy still has to feed him...sigh...well, small steps, and maybe soon he will. At almost $3 a 5.5 ounce can, he better, OMC!! It sure is hard to find a good food in the pate style that hasn't got carrageenan in it, or other not needed/wanted ingredients. The carrageenan is something that meowmy has read to cause 'leaky gut' in peeps, and the same goes for kitties, esp if they already have intestinal/gastric issues. The food he was eating didn't have that in it...so who knows how this all started.
He is also getting some fish oil and a probiotic, both human grade.

Pipo seems livelier too, he is now getting noms of a no grain type, and low glycemic. He needs to shed some junk out of his trunk! He gets more play time, and hence exercise:)

We didn't get to bask in sunpuddles much the past few days, the rains have been active. At least the grass was all beheaded before that rain came down. This morning the rains are still coming down, the radar looks like its covered in a big green blanket...sigh... But not too loudly are we grumbling, there are peeps and furs in a far worse state than we are with floods and all nasty stuff from too much rain...we are pawyering for some nice sunny days fur them all!
Meowmy's irises were just starting to bloom, and the rain came down so hard now they are keeled over and some look all mushy...pics?? Oops, not in time to get any before the rain came down...
The neighbors were having an open house for one of their girls who graduated from high school. Um...bad timing..they all had to run fur cover!!

There was a 5km run fundraiser yesterday morning, to raise funds for a local food kitchen...they had a soggy time too...

Well, that's about all we got to mew about fur now...MIAOW!

  2. All our canned food is gluten-free too. We hope we arent missing some good tastes (TBT says we arent). And it is poultry or fishy, which is fine by us. The occassionally tossed bit of cow or ham from his plate is strictly a treat. Like the kibble-toss game.

    1. That's good, the TBT knows the right things to give you.

  3. Look up Organic Slippery Elm its 100% safe and coats the GI tract to curb inflammation which is what can cause tummy upset. You can sprinkle it on the food or make up a "syrup" to also incorporate into Minko's meals. Best place to read about this is on Tanya's CRF site. THat is an excellent website for a lot of information about many many topics. We hope Minko feels better real soon.

    1. I can't 'get into ' that site, despite multiple attempts...not on any of my browsers. Windows or Mac.
We will look up the slippery elm. Meowmy was going to use that during her own chemo journey several years ago...but she did not need it:)

    1. It poured in the morning, drizzled in the afternoon, but the forecast is for a sunny and warmer week. There are frost/freeze warnings for some parts of our state tonight.Yikes. We are going to be in the low 40's, meowmy might put her planter pots inside so they won't be stressed out, since they are so soggy from all the rain.

    1. We sure hope so too...on all counts. Our groomed yard (MOL, are you kidding?) is bestrewn with big branches, leaves and twigs from the big winds last night. The power was briefly off...we hate that, because when it comes back on all the alarms in the den goo off to let the peeps know they are working...they're SO LOUD.

    1. We didn't used to be finicky like now, but now we know we can hold out fur the good stuff, um...OK, we were not sick then, and while Minko is, Pipo is just getting different noms to help him shrink down a tad. 14-15 pounds is too big fur meezers.

  13. Glad to hear that Minko is feeling a little bit better. Granny always tells me when I'm sick that I don't must be picky on the food, because it's the best for me. Pawkisses for a Happy Day :) <3
